Smiles 4 Sick Kids

Hi everyone!! I am just back from our very long awaited trip to Memories Grand Bahamas Resort and Casino in Freeport Bahamas that Vince and I won over a year ago. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and it was just an awesome week. We sure didn't want to come back to the cold.

So while we were away during some of my middle of the night down time I of course worked on some Kit and Clowder homework as I wouldn't want to be scolded by Alyce because I didn't do my boot camp work lol. But I also wanted to share with you some cards I prepared for a program I have been involved with called Smiles 4 sick kids. This is an awesome group that I have had the privilege of been a part of for a few years now. We make cards for the children who are in the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto Ontario. The wonderful lady who organizes all the cards is Faithe Walsh and she heads down there a few times a year to deliver the cards and little gifts for the kids so the staff give them to the kids or the kids can give them to their family whatever the need is.

This program warms my heart to know that I am making a difference in a child's life who may not be feeling well or sad or upset. I sometimes have made notebook covers because doctors give so much information to parents they can get confused , so I made some fun coves for the notebooks. It's a great program but there never enough cards. The cards do not need to be fancy and cannot have any embellishments. For every 5 cards we send we are entered in a draw for stamps. I don't do it for the draws but it's fun to win.

We did a Christmas exchange for the past two years and I've become really good friends with my secret sister Santa. Just fun stuff ya know.

If anyone is interested in joining our group I'm sure Faithe would be most welcoming as the more the merrier.

So that's what I have to say for today

Lauren
